The Daily Ant hosts a weekly ant fashion series, Style Saturdays. This third installment is by our Fashion Correspondant Kathryn Pogin, who is also an Executive Producer of our popular Philosophy Phridays series. Enjoy!

I realize some folks might have expected me to write a Coachella-themed entry this week, but given that I’d like my work as the Daily Ant’s Fashion Correspondant to represent genuine myrmecological style, rather than Urban Outfitters with a side of Burning Man, this week we’re going to look at a rom-ant-ic ensemble that’s versatile enough to take you from brunch to the ballroom.

Included in this week’s look are a few pieces from Aloló Jewellery‘s Genesis collection. Thanks to it’s careful balance of sobriety and whimsy, Genesis has managed to be featured by Vanity Fair, Vogue Spain, S Moda (twice), LUI Italia, and other fashion media outlets.

A delicately detailed necklace, paired with matching earrings, a dress from Anthropologie in spring’s indelible color, and shoes that say, ‘I appreciate a silver strappy sandal, but also, my ability to walk on grassy surfaces regardless of whether or not my date’s offer of a moonlight stroll meant to suggest we check out that new ant colony in the park.’ Throw on a denim jacket, and you’ve got attire that’s casual enough for brunch, but pair it with a silver clutch and a wrap, and you’ve got a black-tie ready ant-semble.

With just a little creativity, these pieces can go with you almost anywhere. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the subject matter. As Aloló puts it, “The ant, full of life, creates its own world step by step.”
